DC Circuit Analysis with Independent/Dependent Source and Parametric Sweep using Orcad PSPICE.

Objectives:

To effectively use Orcad PSPICE for simulating a DC circuit

To analyze the behavior of the given DC circuit

To use independent and dependent sources in the circuit

To perform parametric sweep and thereby calculate and verify the Maximum Power Transfer Theorem

Materials & Specification:

Orcad PSPICE simulation software

A DC Circuit diagram (given as block diagram on next page)

Components to use

DC Voltage sources (as specified in the circuit)

Dependent Source (GAIN average of last digit of your ID+2.5; use nearest value 0.5/1/1.5/2/2.5/3 and so on)

Resistors R1, R2 and R4 (use the value same as specified in the circuit)

Resistor R3 (15)

Resistor R6 (22)

Resistor R5 (49)

Resistor R7 (perform Parametric Sweep as Name: Rx, Start Value: 0.1, Stop Value: 1000, Increment: 0.1)

Example:

Let us consider, 3 students in a group (241-33-008, 241-33-024, 241-33-178)

GAIN=((8+4+8)+3)+2.5(14+3)+2.52.667 ≈ 2.5

R308, R624, R536.667
