\[ P(n, r) = \frac{n!}{(n-r)!} \]

Here, \( n = 8 \) and \( r = 3 \).

\[ P(8, 3) = \frac{8!}{(8-3)!} = \frac{8 \times 7 \times 6}{1} = 336 \]
